New bag policy at Evansville's Ford Center will make entry 'easier'

EVANSVILLE — You can now bring your purse into the Ford Center. Well, depending on the purse.

Showgoers headed to the Ford Center and Victory Theatre now have more acceptable bag options in which to keep their belongings, VenuWorks announced Thursday morning.

They said "technology upgrades to security" at the two locations have made it possible to update the clear bag policy that has been in place since 2019.

"This will allow easier and faster access for patrons entering the venue," the release states. "All bags will be subject to bag checks."

The new policy starts immediately.

Clear backpacks, stadium bags and plastic storage bags are still options. Clear bags cannot exceed 12.75 by 6.5 by 12.75 inches.

Purses are now allowed if they are smaller than 12-by-6-by-12 inches.

Fanny packs and drawstring bags.

Nonclear backpacks, duffel bags, oversized totes and oversized purses.
